Used for placement of the composite increments against the cavity wall or adjacent tooth surface. Black line composite instruments allow for exceptional non-stick placement of materials. Aluminum Titanium Nitride (AlTiN) coatings are consistently harder, smoother and stick less as compared to Titanium coatings.
Composite instrument ends should be gently wiped with an alcohol saturated gauze immediately after use. This minimizes thin layers of composite from building up after use and extends the life of the instrument.
